In commemoration of Mad Men's series finale, we collaborated with Google to build a huge
archive of the show's history.
We worked with Google and Lions Gate to create an archive boasting over 300 pieces of
content such as key scenes, stills, storyboards, artwork, cast commentaries and never before
seen extras courtesy of Matthew Weiner himself. Users can also dig deeper into their
favourite characters or themes. The site acts both as a primer for the uninitiated as well
as a trip down memory lane for diehard fans. A technically difficult navigation system was
defined where you travel through the New York cityscape while going along the storyline of
the show. Once you stop, you’re taken into that specific highlight and can scroll yourself
downwards and pass by related content from that specific scene, episode or even season.
Erik worked closely with the UX lead and the dev team to come up with an interesting structure
of the site which the user both could explore in a logical and chronological way, but also
could dig deeper into and get sidetracked.
